Unit 1- Sentence Types

Declarative Statement – Tells something or makes a statement. They end with a period (.)

Example 1 – I struggled with setting up my digital portfolio.

Example 2 – Grammar 21300 was one of my favorite courses that I took this semester.

Example 3 – I’m hungry so I’m going to get some food.

Interrogative(Question) – Ask something. They end with a question mark (?)

Example 1 – Why did this semester feel so long?

Example 2 – What was your most stressful class?

Example 3 – What’s your favorite food spot?

Imperative (Command/Request) – Gives an order, instruction or request. Can end in (.) or (!)

Example 1 – Let’s go now.

Example 2 – Leave my classroom now!

Example 3 – Stop talking to me like that!

Exclamatory (Exclamation) – Expresses strong emotion such as surprise, excitement, or anger. They end an exclamation mark (!)

Example 1 – Leave me alone!

Example 2 – All this for me!

Example 3 – Im so tired of this job!
